Freshness - the perspective with which the album is regarded in retrospect
1 = trapped in an era; 3 = holds up; 5 = still sounds ahead of its time
Songwriting - musical and lyrical content written prior to recording
1 = writing limits performance; 3 = writing facilitates performance; 5 = writing shines regardless of performance
Performance - vocals and instrumentation heard on the recording
1 = performance doesn't fit song or is inadequate; 3 = performance does the song justice; 5 = performance elevates material.
Production - sound design, recording quality, and post-recording modifications
t1 = production distracts from performance; 3 = production facilitates performance; 5 = production enhances performance
Personality - the level of distinctiveness displayed by the artist on the final product
1 = the artist is interchangeable; 3 = some unique qualities, some generic qualities; 5 = only this artist could make this album
